In the third quarter of 2024, the performance of top social networking applications in Madagascar showed varied trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. This data, provided by Sensor Tower, offers insights into the digital landscape of the region.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads starting at around 12.6K in early July, peaking at 17.3K by the end of September. The app consistently engaged over 3M users weekly, with active users increasing steadily from 3.04M to 3.19M throughout the quarter.

Facebook saw a gradual increase in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $310 by the end of September. Downloads fluctuated, starting at 24.8K and dipping to 14.5K in mid-September before climbing back to 17.6K. Active users remained stable, hovering around 400K throughout the quarter.

The Messenger app experienced a decrease in downloads from 14.4K in early July to 9.5K by late September. However, active users increased from 786K to over 850K, indicating a rise in engagement despite the decline in new downloads.

Threads exhibited a modest growth pattern in downloads, moving from just over 1K to 1.6K by the quarter's end. Active users mirrored this trend, with a gradual increase from 8.9K to 11K, suggesting a slow but steady adoption rate.

Lastly, Telegram Messenger showed an upward trajectory in weekly revenue, peaking at $190 in late September. Downloads increased from 4.7K to 6.3K, and active users fluctuated slightly, stabilizing around 111K by the end of the quarter.
